Willingness and Influencing Factors of Farmers’ Forestland Management in Ethnic Minority Areas: Evidence from Southwest China

This paper uses a questionnaire and interviews from households in ethnic minority areas of the Jianchuan County (Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture) Pingbian (Honghe Hani Yi Yunnan Province to explore willingness foresters manage forests. Using Sustainable Livelihoods Analysis framework, we select three indicators including variables individual social economic attributes, cognition experience forest landowners, policy guidance. We use binary logistic regression model analyze factors affecting participate management. Through above analysis, found following: (1) Forest landowners’ engage management regions is relatively high, at 71.98%. (2) Variables attributes have most significant degree influence on (3) Standard living woodland area positive effect land intentions, while education level, whether they are compensated by public welfare forests, participated project returning farmland grassland negative intentions. (4) There differences between influencing non-minority regions.
